Coco coir is a by-product of the coconut industry, coming from the husks of coconuts after a harvest, and is an ecologically responsible choice of starting bedding material for your worms from The Worm Farm. It will hold up to 10 times its weight in water and will expand at a ration of 5:1.

To expand these rich fibers, simply soak the small coco coir brick for less than 30 minutes in a pail of water. We recommend a final flushing with water to help eliminate any natural salts that may be present.

Coconut coir is weed and pathogen free and resists bacterial mold and fungal growth.

Composition: Recycled coconut husks; 2/3 fiber to 1/3 pith

Usage: Soil amendment, Potting medium, Worm bedding
Coconut coir has a moderate pH, and will not repel water.
